FITTING NISSAN CEFIRO

It would seem the reign of Cefiro's are slowly coming to an end. With most bent, parted or track only items. There's only a hand full of tidy street examples left.
Seeing as I haven't shot anything in quite some time and watching this car slowly come together, it seemed like a good time to get the camera out again.

Jack and I drove this Cefiro back from Adelaide mid 2012. Was a good starting platform, with all matching interior, panels, Autech kit and pushed by an RB25DET.
With a good starting point, only minor things were required to bring it up to a nicer street standard. With just coilovers, a couple of arms and a set of wheels.

With so many possible wheel choices on the market, Jack had concave on the brain. Our good friend at www.csrperformanceparts.net organised a set of VCP-S5R. In very fitting 17x10+22 17x9+22.
Running such wheel sizes, 12kg springs up front and 10kg in the rear, were chosen, A further -5 degrees front and -5.5 degrees back were required to squeeze them in the guards.
These photo's does this car no justice, the amount of concave these wheels have mixed up with such a degree camber on a street car, simply looks complete.
Fortunately, at some point, someone had fitted ER33 GTS-T hubs and brakes all round, which was a bonus!
Interior has all your basic needs, Nardi, Gauges and the usual Japanese bits and pieces.
Special thanks to Carlo from www.csrperformanceparts.net for all the help!

Jack's currently considering letting the Cefiro go, in pursue of another dream. So feel free to swing us an email!

Thanks, Streetkarnage.

PAPER OR PLASTIC?

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

This 1998 Volvo S70 is not your average grocery getter. Matt Philips of Orlando, Florida, has made a strong effort to make his Volvo stand out, and I can easily say he has succeeded. He has been in the Volvo scene with this car for as long as I have known him. In all 6 years I have watched this car little by little come together into a beautiful peice of machinary.

The car is stanced on a full air-bag suspension system, custom peiced together from BagRiders due to the fact that no one produces an air setup for Volvos. It has been fitted on refinished 17x8 BMW BBS Style 5s, with Porsche metallic brown centers and gold hardware. They have been redrilled to Volvo 5x108 bolt pattern, so NO, he is NOT running adapters!

This S70 is easily one of the most aggressive looking Volvos in the US. Not only from the fitment, but by also the wind-splitter lip attached to the V70 R front bumper, C70 eggcrate grille, black housing headlights with reflectorless corners, and the very stylish argyle vinyled fender.

This is one Volvo that would be a head turner no matter where you go. When it comes to class, the nail has been hit right on the head.

....WORDS CAN'T DESCRIBE....

As the Australian JDM car scene continues to grow faster and stronger with many of the classics becoming cheaper to both buy and mod, the over supply of the "same" has become quite evident. It has become much harder to set yourself apart from the dude parked next to you at the local meet with the strong exchange rates making parts much cheaper then only 2 years ago. Most will venture into buying bolt on parts but Braydon has pushed the envelope and bought his Honda to a level that many would not dare yet in Australia.

I saw quite some months prior some pics Braydon had taken and placed on Facebook of some shaving work of the engine bay he was working on. I was totally taken back by these images and just couldnt take my eyes away from it. At this point, it wasnt even close to being finished! There has been plenty who have "detailed" there engine bays in Australia but completing a FULL wire tuck, Battery relocation, air con removed, power steering removed, all holes not required shaved and then smoothing the bay is no easy task!

From the outside, the subtle changes of shaved fender indicators, a ek9 rear lip and SIR front lip keep the car clean and understated from the outside. The Axis old school rims give it a historic and modern feel at the same time, while this Honda has been bought back to earth by the HSD Street Series Coilovers. To ensure Braydon stays flat in every corner and the 15x8 +25mm (5mm spacer added) Axis's stay where they should, BLOX Purple series control arms, BEAKS tie bar and Spoon Front Strut braces were fitted.

The clean theme continues into the interior and starts from the hatch being totally stripped from the front Bride seats back and then resprayed in white. The rear is now filled with a custom X brace, a Spoon strut brace, a Type One Racing dry carbon C Piller brace and the battery. Moving forward to the cockpit, a buddy Club VTEC Controller and Autometer dash bezel with Carbon series gauges which reads the air fuel and oil pressure helps keep his eye on what going under the bonnet. A EK9 gear boot and Trust gear knob were also installed to finish off the interiors minimist look.

The engine bay is what sets this Civic from the others.... Every inch of this bay has been touched including all bolts being replaced with pro bolt acron nuts and polished fender bolts. Starting at the front is a polished Mishimoto Radiator and thermo fan which plays second to the centre piece 5 Zigen 4-2-1 headers and shaved valve cover. This was finshed in a black wrinkle paint to add contrast to the blinding purple hue when the bonnet is popped. A custom CAI is feed into the fender and houses the K&N filter adding to the deafening sounds of the Vtec pushing out of the cat-back exhaust into Mugen Twin Loop Muffler. The Hasport Solid Engine mounts ensure the motor has no movement on the way to the local meet or show.

A huge shout out needs to go out to Chris Kenny would layed down the paint in this immaculate bay, Duncan Wilson who made the engine install possible and Daniel Bates for all the custom metal work that was required to bring it to this level. It is truily a credit to all involved in this build and making Braydons build a reality!

Thank for looking and check out more pics here...

WE FUCK SHIT UP

Was contacted by a local photographer James Dean to see if was interested in getting a shoot done on the HAWK... already knowing his work I jumped at the chance!

It was a crappy gold coast day but luckily the sun stayed out for a couple shots... but on the other hand rolling photos in the rain turned out mega awesome!

More photo's and full write up by James can be found here at WFSU.net

Cant thank James enough for the feature! If your thinking of getting a photo shoot done I highly recommend getting onto James as you can see he does awesome work.

Thanks, Streetkarnage.
