ZEN GARAGE | SK INVADES

Arriving in Sydney after the epic amount of travel,, with no sleep under our belts (maybe a few of us having a little nap in the cars) spirits at an all time low... but we didn't just go to the hotel to crash out and rest... we did what most people would do when driving slammed cars to Sydney.

WENT AND CHECKED OUT ZEN GARAGE!

Last time we headed to Sydney for Showcased, our plan was to make it to Zen but unforgettably they didn't open on the Saturday before... so this trip it was a must!

We got lost through the city but after the piss stop we re-grouped and check the maps to get us on the right roads to get us here.

Pulling up first thing we seen was the huge illest and allstars banners, then following the banners it make you look down a dingy dark, plain out rad looking alley and at the end the Zen Garage sign.

We lined the cars up down the alley and jumped out to check out the place and pretty much just chill the fuck out!

Massive thanks to the guys at All Stars and Zen Garage... possible the best way to be welcomed... a heap of coronas and BBQ was just what we needed!

You all made us very welcome... totally need more guys in the scene like this bunch!!! YEP!

After chillin' and just relaxing for a while, I started to wonder through the Garage... the first thing I seen was this fixie/cruiser awesomeness!
Also in sort of hidden, but not hidden room there was a well set out gallery... showing some of the best automotive photography work from a bunch of talented dudes!!

So much character in this place... simply can not have found a better location for a garage / shop / chill shack!

After you have entered the shop and checked out the gallery... first thing you see is the line up of project cars that Zen has in the works!

I couldnt actualy go any further into the shop cause the smell of that food pulled me out side for something to eat and another beer! hahaha

By the time I got back in the place had started filling up with people shopping, talking cars and just looking around taking the place in.

The place is laid out so well... from having clothes racks next to place you can sit down and have a read through some awesome car mags.

Then you look over your shoulder and the guys are working on the shop project cars that I mentioned earlier.

The TRIIPN evo was parked up out the front... such a cool looking car!

We spent a few hours at Zen, just chilling, relaxing and talking about cars, girls and the scene!

Huge thanks again needs to go out to all the guys!

Doesn't matter how many photos we show you of this place, its just one of them places you just have to check out for yourself!

When you leave the place your still unsure of what it is.... only way I could describe it is a HUB, yeah I think that makes sense... hahaha see I'm still confused about it... haha..  but it definitely is one thing.... AWESOME!

We headed back to the hotel to check in and get some well deserved rest!

I could say we drove to the hotel as respectable motorist, but I would be lying!!! hahaha

Skids and dragging sparks through the city was the best!

The Hotel was not expecting this on a Saturday afternoon haha

and that was it time to crash out for a few hours... so we could hit the town till the early morning!

Thanks, Streetkarnage.

OEM+ VERSATILE FROM NORWAY

Believe it or not, this beautiful Volvo 945 used to be a 2 seater work vanwagon! Up until Heming from Norway got his hands on it of course. I must say, Heming has done extremely well for his first car, inside and out from bumper to bumper.

Under the hood is the euro spec B230FK turbo red block engine, attached to a M90 5-speed manual gearbox. Its running a 3" turboback exhaust system, BSR 0.8 bar boost actuator, Viking Ecomax fuel chip, and a BSR Optiflow air filter kit. I imagine with such an efficient set up, it runs like a dream with the Eaton G80 locker from factory, and the Sachs Racing pressure plate and Organic clutch.

After removing all the utility van equiptment, Heming installed a very stylish up-to-par interior and registered the car as a 5-seater.

Modernizing the inside of this car, seats from a 1997 Volvo 945 Classic were put in. It has been decked out with V90 accessories such as dome light, visors, and headliner. '98 945 door panels were equipped along with the mahogany wood trim all around. Completing the look with a Volvo original "Bison" leather steering wheel and 960 center armrest. The windows and mirrors have also been converted to power which was a nice and needed touch.

2-tone leather and cloth seats

Lighted mirror visors and 3-way dome light

V70N chrome plated step guard

The car was resprayed its original color, Regent red pearl autumn. A Volvo original accessory sport front lip has been added along with a V70N rear spoiler. The door handels and rear wiper are from the S/V90 series Volvo, a cleaner look that is also color matched.

This wagon is riding on a very nice suspension set up. Adjustable strut mounts by Kaplhenke set at -2.16 degree camber. Myranez/Gaz adjustable coil-overs all around, the front with Bilstien Sprint inserts, and the rear with a bound/rebound adjustable option. Also a panhard rod by IPDusa has been installed.

Rolling on 3-piece Image Cast BPS wheels from ImageWheels out of the UK really tie this car all together. A great wheel choice, 18x8 front and 18x8.5 rear wrapped in Dunlop SP9000 sport 225/35 tires.

This Volvo is absolutely flawless and super clean! I was happy to hear back from Heming as I was eager to do a feature on his beautiful wagon that he has put some serious work into.

BEST 144, EVER?

This is my favourite Volvo 144 of all time.!
I have been trying to hunt down some specs on it but have failed.

If anybody has any info or even more photos, please email them through!

In my eyes its perfect, the ride height, those wheels, and the how extremely mint it is... the owner has done one hell of a job!

Thanks, Streetkarnage.

PAPER OR PLASTIC?

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

This 1998 Volvo S70 is not your average grocery getter. Matt Philips of Orlando, Florida, has made a strong effort to make his Volvo stand out, and I can easily say he has succeeded. He has been in the Volvo scene with this car for as long as I have known him. In all 6 years I have watched this car little by little come together into a beautiful peice of machinary.

The car is stanced on a full air-bag suspension system, custom peiced together from BagRiders due to the fact that no one produces an air setup for Volvos. It has been fitted on refinished 17x8 BMW BBS Style 5s, with Porsche metallic brown centers and gold hardware. They have been redrilled to Volvo 5x108 bolt pattern, so NO, he is NOT running adapters!

This S70 is easily one of the most aggressive looking Volvos in the US. Not only from the fitment, but by also the wind-splitter lip attached to the V70 R front bumper, C70 eggcrate grille, black housing headlights with reflectorless corners, and the very stylish argyle vinyled fender.

This is one Volvo that would be a head turner no matter where you go. When it comes to class, the nail has been hit right on the head.
