THE JOURNEY TO SHOWCASED - PART THREE

Last but not least the final stint of our drive down...

Mitch Hemming, hangin' out of Alex's golf making sure to get some killer shots!

We did a final stop into Newcastle to get a patch kit for the tank and a quick wash all of our trashed cars...  As you would have worked out, after all our problems we were ruining a bit late haha

So you could say our final run to the show, was, ummm, a bit intense.... We kinda drove as if we were running for a border, so there was no photos taken off this bit of the trip haha as we were all focused on getting to show before the start time of 1pm!

We arrived with minutes to spare, at the Fox studio carpark... we all quickly did our final finishes to the cars and got the hell up to the top level...

OHHH YEAAHHH!

Showcased Coverage coming up this week... make sure to check back!

Thanks, Streetkarnage.

THE JOURNEY TO SHOWCASED - PART TWO

Well with Friday nights dramas behind us (I hoped) the sun started coming up, most of us with very little to no sleep under our belts..... we made a quick breakfast stop at a servo, and to just have a stretch of the legs!

If you can see just under the car there is a bit of fuel leaking... we worked out the candles don't work that well as it was so close to the exhaust it just melted and dripped out.... so yep...

SOAP IS BETTER THAN CANDLES!

After some more soap was added the the 7's wounds... we hit the road again!

We had some fun early morning shenanigans!

Part Three up over the weekend... Make sure to check back!

THE JOURNEY TO SHOWCASED - PART ONE

Last weekend a selected group of legendary men and there auto mobiles, headed off on a epic journey towards the big bad Sydney city.....

lol

well had to make it sound a little more epic..

Probably have read on our facebook, A
few of us headed to The Lowdown's showcased held at the Fox Studio's in Sydney!

The car convoy included Alex in his bagged mk5, Cobey in is G35, Charlie in the killer MXBOSS, Andrew and Matyi in the trusty getz and then also myself in the Sk7.

We headed off late Friday night, at around about 10-10:30 and headed in the direction of Sydney... we were expecting to arrive around about 9:30ish on Saturday... Yep drive through the night! haha

Driving with such a cool group of cars was great.. I kept thinking back to our drive to WTAC last year... and was so happy to be doing the trip again!

I don't think we had even got 3 hours into our 9-10 hour drive, when disaster struck! Most of you should know the 7 by now... if not CLICK HERE... well you could say its low! hahaha Well I wasn't expecting this to happen.......

keeping things short... I could go on raging how shit the roads are but I have to admit its my fault for running so low... well I ripped one of the corners of my tank.. and the 7 was jacked on the side of the road, leaking fuel everywhere!

With no other choice, we jacked up the SLS in the rear and headed to the nearest servo.. which was luckily about 1klm down the road.

After arriving, the car was up on the jack again... everybody having a look, trying to come up with ideas.. someone mentioned soap.. so we tried rubbing a heap of soap in the crack in the tank!

IT STOPPED THE FUCKING LEAK!

But we had no idea for how long it would hold.... I maxed the SLS as high is it would possible go and we hit the road again, looking for another servo! After arriving at the next servo, that was a few klms down the road... it hadn't leaked a drop. Nick got under rubbed some more soap in the crack and even some candles that we found in the servo.

and we hit the road again.....

We stopped every so often to check that it wasn't leaking, and just rubbed some soap in the crack just to be sure!

from then on.... it felt like we were back on the road again...

PART TWO, coming tomorrow!

Thanks, Streetkarnage.

AUSTRALIA'S FIRST BAGGED MK5 GOLF!!

I really cant believe I had yet too post these photos up.. when we where on our trip down to the cold SYD.. soon as the sun had starting coming up and the fog started covering the roads and damp paddocks... once the sun was completely up I put in the call to Alex, that was leading at the time and told him to pull down the next street!

Luckily for us, we didn't have to drive far off course to find a spot that had a good amount of fog and was suitable to get some killer shots of Alex's golf!

We all parked up and directed Alex as he reversed down a random driveway at about 7am Friday morning, once we got in a good position.. Alex laid the car out and tucked those BBS RS' up in the guards.

Shooting a car with fog in the distance has been something I have wanted too do, since well, umm, pretty much since I have been taking photos really.. I would have been happy to shoot any car in a location like this.. but to have the first bagged Mk5 Golf in Australia handy, just made it 1000x better!!!! (haha) If I get too shoot a car in the snow one day, my 2 goals as photographer will complete!

We did promise a full feature on this and we will make sure we still deliver.. but with our man Byza getting hitched soon his spare time has been spent on organising / planing his big day.. so hopefully we can smash a few shoots out one weekend soon!

Thanks, Streetkarnage.

SK X FW MEET - PART 2

Continuing from yesterday.. here some shots from the meet... enjoy!

Charlie's mx5 is easily the best in AUS.. just currently back on the road for a make over including that killer set of BBS wheels.. some plus tee action and that diffuser and lip kit.. SO RAD!!!!

This is the new daily driver for Marvis of NICEVIBE.. such a cool car!!

This is Alex's new Mk5 golf, that has been in the build for the last month or so... kept very secret with people only finding out on the day, that this car existed.. having some problems on the day, it didn't make it to the meet but Byron got some snaps of it to show everyone!!

We believe this is the first Mk5 on AIR in Australia!!

WATCH THIS SPACE FOR A FULL FEATURE SOON!

You should remember this killer Evo 9 on CCWheels from the Downshift Cruise earlier this month!

Cant say I ever get over looking at Tom's EG, it blows me away every meet... <3

Nathan of Fabulous Fabrications come out in his killer daily Mazda Ute.. that is actually up for sale if anybody is interested, they can email us!!

So effing stocked Tayno made it out in his S14a, fitted up with a 17/8 TE37 combo and that absolutely awesome ride height.. this car has graced the readers of Speedhunters computer screens many times, also having a feature in wreck em' plus the countless amount of images floating around the net!

again Massive props to all the cars that attended... pictured or not..
