QLD MATSURI 2012 | PART ONE

As most of you know, we've been flat out getting cars ready for QLD Matsuri last weekend.

Cutting it real close, as the Wagon was only finished Saturday morning!

I didn't get much opportunity to take photo's, but I managed to get a few. Enjoy!

 With a 7am Start, it was bound to be a long day.

OEM+ VERSATILE FROM NORWAY

Believe it or not, this beautiful Volvo 945 used to be a 2 seater work vanwagon! Up until Heming from Norway got his hands on it of course. I must say, Heming has done extremely well for his first car, inside and out from bumper to bumper.

Under the hood is the euro spec B230FK turbo red block engine, attached to a M90 5-speed manual gearbox. Its running a 3" turboback exhaust system, BSR 0.8 bar boost actuator, Viking Ecomax fuel chip, and a BSR Optiflow air filter kit. I imagine with such an efficient set up, it runs like a dream with the Eaton G80 locker from factory, and the Sachs Racing pressure plate and Organic clutch.

After removing all the utility van equiptment, Heming installed a very stylish up-to-par interior and registered the car as a 5-seater.

Modernizing the inside of this car, seats from a 1997 Volvo 945 Classic were put in. It has been decked out with V90 accessories such as dome light, visors, and headliner. '98 945 door panels were equipped along with the mahogany wood trim all around. Completing the look with a Volvo original "Bison" leather steering wheel and 960 center armrest. The windows and mirrors have also been converted to power which was a nice and needed touch.

V70N chrome plated step guard

The car was resprayed its original color, Regent red pearl autumn. A Volvo original accessory sport front lip has been added along with a V70N rear spoiler. The door handels and rear wiper are from the S/V90 series Volvo, a cleaner look that is also color matched.

This wagon is riding on a very nice suspension set up. Adjustable strut mounts by Kaplhenke set at -2.16 degree camber. Myranez/Gaz adjustable coil-overs all around, the front with Bilstien Sprint inserts, and the rear with a bound/rebound adjustable option. Also a panhard rod by IPDusa has been installed.

Rolling on 3-piece Image Cast BPS wheels from ImageWheels out of the UK really tie this car all together. A great wheel choice, 18x8 front and 18x8.5 rear wrapped in Dunlop SP9000 sport 225/35 tires.

This Volvo is absolutely flawless and super clean! I was happy to hear back from Heming as I was eager to do a feature on his beautiful wagon that he has put some serious work into.

YEP, I STILL HAVE IT!

I was thinking last night that it has been so long since I have done an update on the wagon... well the main reason behind that is... I have nothing to update!!

I have been flat out, now working 2 jobs and running 2 sites... my spare time aka the time i have to work on my cars is down to a minimum... I have been trying to not see the wagon at all, keeping it locked up in the garage... but on the weekend I had a little time to have a look at it... It made me sad.. so I had to do something too it. haha

I gave the front bar a quick coat of flat black and mounted it up, sat the grill in place and stood back, pulled up a seat and looked at it for about 15mins. haha 

then got the camera out and took a few snaps!!

I have organised the wagon to get finished off by the guys at ON-ROAD parts and performance.. so hopefully it wont be to far away from finished now.

 Really loving the look of the front end now.. still have to mount my fog lights though... oh and it will be great to see a cooler behind that grill!

Well I hope that clears up some quires about whats happening with the wagon!

MORE MAGAZINE ACTION!

I got a text off a mate the other day saying, that the wagon got into another mag haha so I just went out and picked up the latest Performance Import magazine to check it out!

WAGON UPDATE

I got some work done on the wagon on the weekend

Saturday for me included a whole day of cleaning out the garage and stripping everything i needed off my old sedan.. yes a whole day.. my garage was trashed! (haha)

So at around 5 o'clock Saturday my mate's Joey and Rossi gave me a hand to roll, well struggle to push the wagon into the garage haha

Then Sunday my mate Rossi come around again and said lets get into it haha my motivation was at empty, but some how he managed to get me down there and we got the motor bolted in..!!

After a celebratory hi-five I started mounting the gearbox, whilst Rossie removed the old fuel pump.. so that was pretty much it!

now I have it in the garage and bolted in, the work will move a lot faster... so more updates to come :)

MAGAZINE ACTION

YEEEW!

I have been told by a few people now that my wagon has been in a couple of magazines from Jamboree last year.

This is the first one I have seen with my own eyes, as they released the March issue of Hot4s with a back issue from January!

I cant say I'm a massive fan of this magazine (haha) but it is cool to see your own car in a mag!

WAGON UPDATE

Got a decent update on the wagon, for once!

Motor is in... well I still need to mount up the gearbox mounts.

I have been thinking of painting my wheels, as I'm getting over everybody having DRW in white.

I had some black vinyl laying around, so chucked some on the face of the wheel. (just to see what it looked like)

Don't think I like it, the other option I'm considering is gloss black lip and flat black face.

WAGON UPDATE

Just a quick little update on the wagon, I hit a snag in the build when I worked out it was running Volvo engine mounts.

So the Nismo Items I purchased are useless to me... anyway shit happens and I ordered some poly items from the states, hopefully they should be here soon. :)

Cleaned the engine bay.. so mint.

WAGON UPDATE

Have a wagon update for you all.

Got home from work and felt a little motivated, So up went the garage doors and me and my house mate pushed in the wagon.

After a little while the motor was on its way out.


Really like this photo of the wagon half in the garage.

And its OUT!!! hit a few little snags but all up was a very easy engine removal.

This is a site my neighbours would probably get sick of seeing (haha)

Going to give the engine bay a good clean and hopefully get the motor in this weekend.

I have NISMO Engine and gearbox mounts to go in and also my strut brace from the states come in the mail this week :)

I have a nice list of TO DO's for the weekend.. so hopefully I get a lot done!
