STREETKARNAGE GOES STATUS

Seat choice these days gets extremely difficult with the amount of copied seats lurking around the car scene. After countless months of serious decision making I finally came to a conclusion to purchase a set from Status Racing in the States.

Many of you, especially those from down under probably wouldn't have heard or even seen a set of these seats before but according to statusracing.com the company take pride in delivering top-quality products.

After opening the box I was immediately impressed with the seats. Although they only fit a 32-33 waist I found them extremely comfortable to sit in.
(I'm a 33)

I also ordered a pair of Status's very own harnesses. The packaging on these bad boys was far from normal.

One influential factor that helped me choose Status was that both the seats & harnesses were FIA approved. (Not all their products are FIA approved but they assure everyone they are working on it.)

Each Status seat features an aluminium name plate on each side of the shell as a nice finishing touch.

According to statusracing.com all seats are made in the U.S.A using high quality composite materials derived from a background in military safety products. They do come in carbon / kevlar but your looking at almost double the price.

Overall I would have to say that without fitting them to the car, I'm extremely happy with my seat choice. Apart from the odd mark on the fabric which im guessing was from the shipping they are a very high quality seat. For the two seats & harnesses delivered they cost a fraction under the 3k AUS mark but well worth it I think.

Keep an eye out for a write-up on the fit-up & testing of the seats on the track.

Sunday just past was this years All Japanese Day, put on by the Rising Sun register and the Seven of clubs
up on the North Side of Brisbane.

We had an offer for a pre-meet with some friends at the hell early time of 7am... Both Alex and Myself thought that was way to early to get up on a sunday (haha) So we set of at the more suitable time off 9am
(This was still to early for me hahaha)

As you can see there was a great verity of cars.. from classics to fully modified street cars! I cant advise you enough to get out to the next one of these!

JDMST JUNE MEET

Last night was the monthly JDMST meet held up in Bris!
There wasn't a meet last month as the organiser Matyas was away traveling.. so our thoughts where to get there early to make sure we got a park!
It seemed everybody thought this with us arriving 45mins early and the carpark was half full!

We snagged a few parks and went and grabbed some Nandos for dinner, while we wait for more cars to rock in... This didnt take long!

Robs new S14.. you may remember his R33 4 door that we posted a while ago!

He has also decided to put this up for sale.. if your interested contact us and we can put you onto him!

Micra's have been coming out in force here lately.. and that's not a bad think I absolutely love them!!

Here we have Grant from Midnight Mechanics toffee apple AE71, most of you would have seen this kicking around the net for years... weirdly both living on the gold coast this was the first time I had seen it in person!!

Such an awesome car!

For me these meets have being losing its twang.. month after month.. and this one, if it wasn't for a few cars and few people it would have been a massive disappointment!

I have got word from Rory of Downshift that they will be doing big changes and step shit up soon... so looking forward to that in a big way!

I have some more photos that I will post up tomorrow, so make sure to check back!

Thanks, Streetkarnage.

APRIL JDMST MEET

Last night was the monthly JDMST meet this time held on the southside of Brisbane.. which was good for us GC guys having it a little closer!!

Night started of great with Josh and myself arriving early to pick up Alex and then even arriving early to the pre-meet... This doesn't happen much for some reason, haha.. we are always rushing to get to them haha.

After pulling off the highway at Springwood, Josh had some car trouble with his new 240 at the entrance to the carpark! He ended up getting it going and got it into the carpark... unfortunately not the one that the meet was held in! :(
This was the HAWK's first JDMST meet.. so know it isn't JDM at all, I parked it down the back! haha
This has been my favourite 34 4 Door of all time.. It has gone through a few people since the boys at JDM GARAGE imported it and built it!! some people may know it from Speedhunters!
By far my favourite car of the night.. BN Kit all round with the skirt draggin... cant get much more gangster then that!!
This civic grabbed my eye.. very simple and well done!!
This doing key bangers on the highway was awesome!!

Well that's it, I didn't get to many due to the weather, and I only really got photo's of the cars that I haven't posted before!
was a great night with a good amount of cars and good people, cant wait for the next one!!

Thanks, Streetkarnage.

LOWDOWN S13

Tubed, Slammed on 15x10s, and some stock aero is a good way to start a build on a car, and that's exactly what Beau Jones has done with his new S13.

Some may know Beau from his Trueno.. that is plastered all around the world wide web and also featured on the Wreck'em DVD from last year!

This is pure awesome!!

More Info and photos can be seen at HIT & RUN

BIGGEST MEET YET!!

Ill keep it short as the pictures tell the story…! Last night was the monthly JDMST March meet for Queensland. This meet has steadily grown particularly over the last six months and this month delivered with over 300 cars parked consistently throughout the night. This event draws cars from both the North and South of the capital Brisbane and people such as myself traveled anywhere up to 2 hours to attend the meet.

The diversity of cars ranged from stanced Mircas, Daily driven drift cars, exotics, scattered euros and BIG horsepower Skylines, RX7’s and Evos. Probably the most refreshing thing about the meet was the people! The environment was so relaxed, everyone was approachable to talk about there passions and were basically zero issues with the law.

The culture within the Southeast of Queensland (Australia) is certainly growing very quickly and is delivering world quality cars to monthly meets. The only issue now for next month will be, the location now needs to be bigger!!

Thanks, Byza.
