DRIFT MATSURI - TAKE THREE
Continuing on with Saturday of Matsuri coverage.... Between driving, fixing, and sitting in the shade, I didn't get a chance to get around to many other corners to watch apart from the corner we had camped up at.... so most my drifting photos will be from turn 6!
Sherman's epicily awesome R32 4 door is always a pleasure to watch.. nothing but perfection from the car and driver over the weekend!!!
Troy in his freshly finished 180sx.. This was Troy's first time on track also and well, the first time really drifting this car as well.. well apart from some midnight runs! He went great all weekend, watching him improve over the weekend was great!!
This ute was a favourite of mine.. looked like a handful to steer, had no idea what was in it but it baked hard.. was fun to watch!!
Macey's S14 was another amazing one to watch.. looked amazing out there with the fresh lick of paint, it received not long ago!!!
One you would remember for our first matsuri post.. Kyle's R31
This car all weekend made me wish I was running my 10"s on the back so bad... constantly looked the goods!!!
Here we have Jeffers onevia, you may recognise from a post I made on here a while back... or the features on Freeworks or even Speedhunters!!
Such a cool car, it was purchased with the intentions of drifting it in Japan, but then deciding to import it into aus instead.. I'm very happy this is in Australia!!
More to come!!
Thanks, Streetkarnage!

SK VOLVO HITS QLD MATSURI
All in the spirit of Matsuri.
As I had to work on Saturday with a 5pm finish, we had alot to catch up on from the day. Through the day learning that the Volvo was having issues and a mention of a fire, things were starting to look grim.
Upon arrival, Zak and the crew had managed to mend the wagon and get the ball rolling again. Which was short lived after melting what seemed to be a band-aid fix with in only a couple of laps.

We worked long into the night, long after the drifting has finished, diagnosing the wirering issue that had rendered the Wagon stranded. After several attempts of re-grounding what seemed to be the problem, we hit success early Sunday morning.
Here are some shots from Short Track on Sunday, with no more wirering issues, nothing was going to stop this wagon.
Over all, a very successful weekend and a good time!

DRIFT MATSURI - TAKE TWO
Matsuri I think would have to been the best event atmospher I have ever been too in my life... even better then some of the old drift events from back in the day!! I love where the QLD drift scene is currently at.. makes me very happy to be a part of it!!
Saturday was killer... after the rained pissed off, we had blue sky, a nice breeze and of course plenty of smoke!!
Unfortunately for me, when I attempted my 3rd run of the day... I entered the dipper and spun out.. the car stalled.. I tried to re start it and it had nothing, not even the accessory lights come on... I knew something was up, but a couple of seconds later.. Josh and Myself watched a wire coming from under the dash to the fuse panel, heat up so much it burnt the exterior rubber on the wire and smoke started coming out of all the dash vents...
I shat myself thinking to myself this was going to be the end of the wagz!
The smoke stopped and we got a tow back to the pits and started checking out what the hell happened.. luckily for me Emilio just happened to be walking up when I got back in and with him being an auto-election we started tracing the wire back through the loom!
It ended up being an earth that had shorted out somewhere and very luckily for the wagon it didn't burn through any other wires!! I re-ran it and that let me get out for a few laps, before the wire would overheat again and stall the motor.. I would have to wait a bit for it to cool down and it would start again!
anyway enough of my misfortune.. lets get on with some photos!!
Buckna's E36 was a favourite of mine from the weekend.. Slammed on CST Hype Zeros running a bunch of Nissan and Toyota suspension components.. and also running a LS1 conversion!! PURE SEX!
Where we set up camp was right at the exit of the pits and turn 6.. such a cool spot to chill at with the bonus of constant smoke shows!!
R33 have come out in force the last few months.. thinking back to a few years ago I only knew of 1 or 2 that drifted in our scene... now they are taking over.. I'm not complaining or anything, I think they are rad!!!
Last but not least is Mumblezzz RC car look a like AE86... this was the JDM Garage sr20 powered hachi, that I thought had been stripped down completely.. thankfully mumblezzz got his hands on it... and its on its way to be very very cool again, well it kind of already is!!! haha
More to come tomorrow!!!
Thanks, Streetkarnage.

DRIFT MATSURI - TAKE ONE
Well an epic weekend was had.. The weekend just past was the first Drift Matsuri for QLD.. Queensland raceway put on an incredible event, really cant thank the organisers enough!!!
The day started off very early.. we met up at my place to leave at 5:30am on Saturday with what was meant to be a quick stop at 6ish to meet Harris... for some stupid reason the RYDES s15 decided to lock itself randomly, locking his keys inside.. with no spare key, here we were breaking into an S15 at 6:30 in the bloody morning!!!
We got back on the road eventually and kept heading up towards QR... after getting onto the Logan motorway, we hit some crazy weather.. sitting at 60ish and still could only see about 5m in front of the car.. was epicly sketchy!!
This is what we read when we had a look at BOM..eeeekkkkk
Arriving at QR, it had settled a bit, but was still raining pretty heavy and QR had epic amounts of water.... everyyy whhheerrrreeeee!!!!!!!!!
At the time I was more worried about finding a spot to park up and get ready for the weekend, then pulling out the camera to get some photos.. luckily for me there is always heaps of photographers at events like this, so here are some super cool shots showing how much water there was, care of MISKO...
After we set up camp in a dry spot just at the pit entry on the exit of corner 6.. I quickly grabbed the camera and got a few snaps!!
Track being drenched, made for epic angles and also a lot of spin outs... really wish I got out for a few runs with the track so wet.. would have been great to learnt the basics of the track with little effort! :P
Lucky for everybody the rain disappeared and the track started too dry up and with a dry track the tyres starting baking!!!
MORE TO COME!!
