DS NOVEMBER MEET

Last Sunday while most of us Streetkarnage guys where at Eurofest in Sydney, the Downshift November meet was on at Rocklea.... Like always a massive turn out, but from what I have seen, the quality is lacking massively.. and the fact that numbers are getting more important than how cool the cars are, is not a good thing in my books!

anywayssss...

Mitch Rowe was out and about with his camera and snapped some shots for us to share... enjoy!

Aerron's R34 sedan got a outing and from what I have seen on the net, errrrrybody liked it.

Always great to see the HAHA golf out that's owned by Rose and Tony.

 Some cool ke70s.

Jack brought out his mates bad-fucking-ass s14... shit is so damn cool...
I'm hoping to feature this ASAP!!

Thanks, Streetkarnage.

JAPAN - MIND BLOWN

Yesterday morning I arrived home from, what was one of the raddest weeks I have had in my life!

With money tight, we only headed for one week and to only one destination.. Tokyo.. Being all of our first times to Japan, before we left, we set out on gathering as much information about the car scene as possible. The week leading up I was talking a shit load with the 6 time veteran, John Dollisson from AusZoku.. he gave me the low down on a heap of things and cant thank him enough.

Also would like to thank everybody else that helped us out with information.

So a quick run down of the automotive places we got to see in our week are...

3 Up Garage Stores
2 Autobacs Stores
3 Workshops... Star Road, Top Secret, and a closed RWB :(
Hks premium day at Fuji Speedway
2 nights at Daikokufuto PA
and more!

So as you can see fitting all of that in a week made our "holiday" one super busy week! hahaha

Also fitting into our week, was a heap of sites around tokyo and even riding the bullet train up north to check out an amazing temple island full of cherry blossoms.

I personally got over 3000 photos from the trip and then Aerron has his camera full as well. haha So we will have plenty of content from our trip to show you all, so make sure to keep an eye on our page.

This was my kind of holiday and the best way we could have seen Tokyo..  In the big picture we would have loved to travel down to Nagoya and Osaka but that gives us a shit load still to do next time we return to the mother land.

Thanks, Streetkarnage.

BACK ON AUSTRALIAN SOIL - CREW CATCH UP

HELLO EVERYONE!

I have been lost in Southeast Asia for the last 5 months and a bit... I ended up traveling through Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam! I had an amazing time, seen so much awesome stuff and meet a shit tone of awesome fricken people!! But as everything good has to come too an end...
I am now back in Australia!

I will be getting up some content from my trip up over the next few months, of some random cars i seen over the place.. and maybe just some wicked things i seen as well!

Good thing about my return is the content will start flowing again on the blog.. cant thank the guys for keeping it going, while I had one hell of a holiday!

I caught up with most of the SK guys and friends last Thursday night, for a feed at Nando's in Robina... we meet up before to snap a little group shot of Harris, Aerron and my cars together!

here are some shots from the night, enjoy!

Harris rocking his new epic sized SSR's on the RYDES s15!

Can't thank this champ enough, for all the work he did while I had been gone!

A shit load of work has gone into his S15 since I have been gone, so it was great to get to finally see this beast in person!

Aerron's R34 Sedan rocking a set of wheels you would remember from Jack's Nissan Stagea, that has been posted up here a shit load!

Harris checking out the front lip on Aerron's car!

Harris come up with the idea to line the cars up for a little group shoot... this photo is now our new cover photo on the facebook page!

I do have some killer news as well... Aerron, Lauren, Jack and myself will be heading to Japan on the 19th of April, yep 10 days!

CAN'T. FUCKING. WAIT.

and you know Aerron and myself will be snapping away, filling our memory cards full of content that will be up on the blog!

RE-WRITING HISTORY - 510 BLUEBIRD

Recently I had the opportunity to take a look at a piece of Nissan/Datsun history. Paul from FIVETEN Automotive is bringing the 70's to the modern age. Having such a clean slate brings so much potential and piece of mind. This is a genuine USDM 1971 Datsun 510 Bluebird 2 door.

This particular chassis was imported in 2003 and merely sat in storage until Paul took ownership in July 06’, so its been a long and slow process, but all great things come with time.
Having previously owned and built a 1600 4 door Sedan with a SR20DET to boot, the plan was sealed.
Although, not much to look at, with its etch primed body, this Bluebird will be something to keep an eye out for.

The 510 Bluebird 2 door is not to be mistaken for its Australian cousin the 1600 Sedan.
To set them apart, the Chassis number is ‘PL510’. The ‘L’ stating it was originally a Left Hand driven car. Also the 2 doors have Pop out rear ¼ windows and the doors are 100mm longer.
The original L16 wasnt going to cut it, so after some deep thought, the SR20VET was enlisted to get this Bluebird rolling again.
It's not everyday you see a bunch of Neo VE heads laying around, three to be exact.
Future plans consist of Neo VE head, rebuilt and strengthened SR20 Block, As for turbo choice, at this stage Twins are strong possibility.

Special thanks to Paul, as far as project cars go, this will be a very interesting build to watch, will keep posted with updates!! Check out FIVETEN Automotive out!!

Thanks, Streetkarnage.

SK VOLVO HITS QLD MATSURI

All in the spirit of Matsuri.

As I had to work on Saturday with a 5pm finish, we had alot to catch up on from the day. Through the day learning that the Volvo was having issues and a mention of a fire, things were starting to look grim.
Upon arrival, Zak and the crew had managed to mend the wagon and get the ball rolling again. Which was short lived after melting what seemed to be a band-aid fix with in only a couple of laps.

We worked long into the night, long after the drifting has finished, diagnosing the wirering issue that had rendered the Wagon stranded. After several attempts of re-grounding what seemed to be the problem, we hit success early Sunday morning.

Here are some shots from Short Track on Sunday, with no more wirering issues, nothing was going to stop this wagon.

Over all, a very successful weekend and a good time!

WTAC - PART ONE

Part one of our world time attack 2011 coverage!

kicking it off first with this killer 370Z.. this was a huge crowd puller, I think the only time it didn't have a huge crowed around it was when we first arrived!

The Sublime S15, even though I'm not that much of a fan of it... you can really appreciate the amount of work that has gone into it!!

This is Aerron.. the owner of the R34 4 door you would remember from the start of the week.. He is the newest member of the SK Family!!!

The JPP 180sx was looking awesome.. and apart from some little troubles it performed amazingly in the drift comp!!

It was great to see so many familia faces from QLD down at this event.. Looks like Matyas from Downshift was taking a break!! haha

I tried to get a shot of Aerron and Jack through my sunnies... kinda looks a little cool (haha)

Speaking of Jack, here is is immaculate Stagea!!

I will leave this post with a car that I loved from the day.. I had seen photos of this 242 floating around the net before, but it was the first time I had seen it in the flesh / Metal (haha)

It was great.. a true classic!!

Will have another post up later today and then more tomorrow, so make sure to check back!!

Thanks, Streetkarnage.
