GUILTY R33 4 DOOR @ MATSURI

Rob defiantly isn't new to having his car up on SK.. He has had one badass car after another, this is his current car.. its an R33 Sedan, some may remember it from the August JDMST meet when he was rocking white XT7s

I didn't head over to short track till late Sunday morning of Matsuri... When we eventually got over their, I was pleased too see Robs 33 rocking some serious carnage.. missing rear bar and zip ties hanging off everywhere!!! I had only just finished having a chat to him and he informed me that he hadn't taped the wall yet... shortly after he went out for another run, entering the hairpin and one of his rear tyre blew out, it sent him skidding straight for the wall... lucky he quickly spun the car around at the last second and only just taped the rear driver side on the wall!

Rob pulled off the track and jumped out, seconds later, the car was surrounded with people checking out the damage... Rob's says "Drift Happens" jumps back in the car and heads back off to camp to get some new tyres!! BLOODY LEGEND!

 The man returned shortly after rocking his Model 5s all round and got straight back out there... First run he didn't get so close to the wall as some of his previous runs!

That didn't last long! haha Next run he was getting as close to the wall as possible.

 Really wish I got over to short track on Saturday to watch Rob more.. He was driving like a boss and the car, as you can see, was looking fucking awesome!!!

SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE - PART TWO

 As the the night got on, the cars thined out and everybody headed out for the last runs...

When 10pm hit the sound of tyre squealing and gates opening, come to an end.. and pretty much for the first time of the day you could hear people talking and tools being used...

Some of the drivers working hard on the cars till early hours of the morning, trying to get their problems all sorted for Sunday morning!!

and would like to note.. that this has to be the coolest under bonnet painting, I have ever seen!!!

While others kicked back, sunk some cold ones and talked shit!! We joined a few chaps for a couple down in a garage in the paddock, so funny stories got told like Flynn and his wild lettuce story! hahaha

Jayrads micra just chillin' in the middle of the skidpan with a tyre under each wheels... hahahahaha this photo cracks me up every time!!! 

We didn't get to sleep till about 2:30ish and had to wake back up at 6:30... urghhhh at this stage we definitely weren't looking forward too waking up!! hahaha

SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE

As you would all know the drift matsuri went all day Saturday till 10pm and then started back up at Sunday morning at 7am... Here is some of our coverage from the night time activities...

After watching and skidding all day.. it was time for a feed!! 

We thought ahead and brought our own BBQ up, it was such a good idea.. chillen back watching skids and eating snags!! LIFE WAS GOOD!!!!

 I was trying to get out as much as possible in the wagon.. but only getting about 2 or 3 runs, before it would heat up so much it would cut out.. so after watching everybody out having a fucking ball, I gave up for a while and went for a wonder down the pits / paddock area!  

 Have to say this was one of the highlights for me of the weekend.. such a sweet vibe... even though people were struggling to sort their cars out with late night gearbox swaps, broken suspension parts and even a bloody engine re-build everybody was still smiling... every garage was full of people chatting or lending a hand where they could!!

Heckett's doing work... have to say big up to these guys, absolute fucking weapons.. working full on all weekend stripping and fitting tyres for everybody this was at about 8:30pm and they still fitting tyres for everybody!!

DRIFT MATSURI - TAKE THREE

Continuing on with Saturday of Matsuri coverage.... Between driving, fixing, and sitting in the shade, I didn't get a chance to get around to many other corners to watch apart from the corner we had camped up at.... so most my drifting photos will be from turn 6!

Sherman's epicily awesome R32 4 door is always a pleasure to watch.. nothing but perfection from the car and driver over the weekend!!!

 Troy in his freshly finished 180sx.. This was Troy's first time on track also and well, the first time really drifting this car as well.. well apart from some midnight runs! He went great all weekend, watching him improve over the weekend was great!!

 This ute was a favourite of mine.. looked like a handful to steer, had no idea what was in it but it baked hard.. was fun to watch!!

Macey's S14 was another amazing one to watch.. looked amazing out there with the fresh lick of paint, it received not long ago!!!

This car all weekend made me wish I was running my 10"s on the back so bad... constantly looked the goods!!!

Here we have Jeffers onevia, you may recognise from a post I made on here a while back... or the features on Freeworks or even Speedhunters!! 

Such a cool car, it was purchased with the intentions of drifting it in Japan, but then deciding to import it into aus instead.. I'm very happy this is in Australia!!
