RE-WRITING HISTORY - 510 BLUEBIRD

Recently I had the opportunity to take a look at a piece of Nissan/Datsun history. Paul from FIVETEN Automotive is bringing the 70's to the modern age. Having such a clean slate brings so much potential and piece of mind. This is a genuine USDM 1971 Datsun 510 Bluebird 2 door.

This particular chassis was imported in 2003 and merely sat in storage until Paul took ownership in July 06’, so its been a long and slow process, but all great things come with time.
Having previously owned and built a 1600 4 door Sedan with a SR20DET to boot, the plan was sealed.
Although, not much to look at, with its etch primed body, this Bluebird will be something to keep an eye out for.

The 510 Bluebird 2 door is not to be mistaken for its Australian cousin the 1600 Sedan.
To set them apart, the Chassis number is ‘PL510’. The ‘L’ stating it was originally a Left Hand driven car. Also the 2 doors have Pop out rear ¼ windows and the doors are 100mm longer.
The original L16 wasnt going to cut it, so after some deep thought, the SR20VET was enlisted to get this Bluebird rolling again.
It's not everyday you see a bunch of Neo VE heads laying around, three to be exact.
Future plans consist of Neo VE head, rebuilt and strengthened SR20 Block, As for turbo choice, at this stage Twins are strong possibility.

Special thanks to Paul, as far as project cars go, this will be a very interesting build to watch, will keep posted with updates!! Check out FIVETEN Automotive out!!

Thanks, Streetkarnage.
